First battle

Theatre in TESL, a subject about the theatre itself and how it can be conducted in teaching of ESL.

The questions covered on the technical terms used, the play Antigone and Trifles, a little bit of literature devices and a poem by Robert Frost, The Sound of Trees.

Pretty sure I had managed to answer those well (despite had just revised it at 10.50 a.m. this morning). And I'm sure I had busted the last 2 questions, so I did the normal thing that I always did.

Draw a potato at the end of my answer.

*Sorry miss.

Now, let's prepare for the second battle tomorrow.

A stop at TWOSOME+ cafe

It began when I was waiting for two of my friends, in front of an album shop, in a cold weather. At first, I thought it would took about 10 minutes because, hey how long did it take to prepare a cup of coffee. So I waited downstairs in front of the music shop.

The owner was playing SNSD's "I Got A Boy" album, track no 3 if I'm not mistaken. I waited for them until the album repeated itself. At that point, the only thing that I could think of were "cold", "toilet", "long", "coffee", "songs", "kidnapped". So I went up there.

Apparently, they were browsing a photobook (and they bought that photobook). I could only muster a sigh, and walked straight to the toilet.

You girls are funny you know.

Nice attitude there..

Hey random citizen,

I would like to thank you for this gift, eventhough my birthday is still late. It made my car looked like a badass there. Nice work I would say. Oh, don't bother to leave your contact number. I don't mind it at all. Just hope that someday, karma won't come and slap you hard in the face.

Oh, and by the way, keep up the good attitude. Everyone's gonna "love" you a lot.

With love,
Me

Heading towards the battle

Final exam is drawing near.

To think that this is my second last semester here makes me feel a bit off. It feels like I had just entered the bachelor program yesterday, and now it's already going to end.

Four papers to be tested for the next two weeks, and two more subjects left for the next semester. After that, say hello to practical, again.

The finish line is getting nearer, all that left is the (not so) final push.

I'm going to quote Syahmi's favourite phrase, "Let's do this!!"

To you, a million thanks and a heartfull farewell

J.M. Barrie once said that "Never said goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting."

As for today, once again another lecturer of mine will be leaving the university. For me, I find it a bit difficult to accept that since he is one of the best lecturer that I had met in my life.

Not only his teaching style, but his charisma, his presentation skill, his attitude and his ability to capture the student's attention really awed me.

Since this day is his last semester here as a lecturer, I had gave him a set of neckties, with different colour and pattern (apparently one of it was his favourite colour, I owed Leena for that one) as a farewell gift. It is the least that I can gave as a token for him to remember us.

So,

To Mr Saiful Izwan,

I won't say goodbye to you, instead I wish you the best of luck in your life and your career. May Allah meet us once again one day, perhaps as a colleague or as an old friend.

With this, I'm reciting the third verse of Fairy Tail send-off ceremony to you.

仮令道は違いと、 強くちからのかぎり行けなければ ならない,
Tatoe michi wa chigaito, tsuyoku chikara no kagiri ikenakereba naranai

消して自ら命は小さなものとしてみてはならない,
Keshite mizukara inochi wa chiisana monotoshite mitewa naranai

愛したとものこと, しょうがいいうわすれては ならない.
Aishita tomo no koto, shougai iu wasurete wa naranai

"Though our path may differs, you must always live your life with all your might,
Never must you consider your own life to be insignificant,
Never in your life must you forget the friends you hold dear"

Thank you very much for your hard work, Mr Saiful.

Open flame, searing meats and a farewell to ahjusshi

I should be familiar to the burn and the open flame sensation by now.

Last night, the MSU Korean Cultural Association (KCA) had organized a farewell barbeque party to one of its member cum former Vice President, Mr Eddie since he's going to Korea to continue his study and the Korean students as they're going back today, with Eddie. Pyo 교수님 (professor) was a proud man on that night.

We had the balls (chicken, fish, prawn), sweet corns, eggs, chickens, sausages, frankfurter, potatoes, and soft drinks. The dance team performs a flashmob, wearing Eddie's mask, of Psy's "Gentleman". More dance after that, and the last agenda is the certificate giving and a symbolic "handling over the duty" gesture from the previous committee members to the new committee member. Since me and my co-director Chan Poh Shin are in a new department (Career and Welfare), Gwen herself did the gesture.

Though the job scope is a bit difficult, the members of KCA always supports each other, which make me feels very grateful, especially to my co-director, PS. For that, I couldn't ask for more.

So for Eddie, bon voyage and ace your study there, ahjusshi.

Seven years ago, at FRIM

Seven years had passed, and all of them had walk their chosen path.

As for me, I just hope that it is the correct one.
